Your first time at Fika Reflexology Bar

What To Expect

If you've never tried Reflexology before, you may be wondering what it is. Reflexology is the application of pressure to areas on the feet, hands, and ears. When focusing on these specific areas, it can help your body relieve stress and anxiety, lift your overall mood, and improve your general well-being. It is a wonderful supplement to your wellness journey and the ultimate relaxation tool. (For a deeper explanation, click here.)

We combined the best of Reflexology with our favorite pampering techniques in order to achieve ultimate relaxation during your session.  Keep reading to find our step-by-step guide of what you experience when coming to our Spa.

Your comfort is our priority! We have stocked our bathroom with all you may need to refresh yourself before or after your session. During our sessions, you are fully clothed, so If you've worn tight pants, feel free to ask one of our team members and we can lend you scrubs bottoms so you can enjoy your foot bath without worrying about wetting your hems.

Remove all jewelry, your shoes, and socks to facilitate our work. (all items are bestowed underneath your bed for safe keeping.)

3. Hands

Once the head and ears have had enough attention, we move on to the hands. We take turns going from one hand to the other, making sure your muscles are relaxed and reflexes have been touched, allowing your arms to relax after working hard every day. If if at any time you feel tenderness, don't be afraid to let us know, we can always ease the pressure.

4. Finally! The Feet!

It's the moment you've all been waiting for, the feet! We purposely work on the feet longer, because it is the gateway to every organ and system in the body. You walk on them all day long and they are constantly fighting against gravity, keeping you afloat. The least we can do is to give it a little love! As we work through the zones of your feet, you may feel the energy shift within you, and if you haven't yet, you may fall asleep at this point. We finish off with hot towels and hot stones.

5. Last but not least...

As we let you rest for a few minutes, you start to regain consciousness and allow your body to come back to itself.

Congratulations! You've finished your very first Reflexology Session!

  • Increase Circulation

  • Relieve Stress, Anxiety, and Depression

  • Assist the Body to Heal

  • Eliminate Toxins

Experiences during reflexology sessions vary from a feeling of pure bliss, to a general sense of relaxation and rest to a conscious awareness internally of the area of the body where the practitioner is working.

Many people experience a “lightness” or tingling in the body, as well as feelings of warmth, a sense of “opening,” or “energy moving” from the practitioner’s pressure to the specific body area or organ. There is often a physical perception of energy flowing through every organ, valve, gland, or muscle, as well as a sense of communication between each body system.

Other reactions during the session range from physical to emotional and may include:

  • Feeling light-headed

  • Coughing

  • Laughing

  • Crying

  • Sighing deeply (big release)

  • Overwhelming desire to sleep

  • Disappearance of some pains and discomfort

  • Loose, relaxed muscles

  • Thirst

  • Emotional Stability
